About Me

I was a soldier for 9 years prior to joining the Metropolitan Police Service, where I served for 25 years. I retired from the police as a Detective Inspector. After leaving the police I undertook maths teacher training; I worked in a Secondary School and taught KS3, KS4 and KS5. I successfully completed my Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and gained Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
I have three children myself so I have first hand experience of the barriers to progression faced by young people today, particularly in relation to the challenges which are apparent in many state schools.
Since qualifying as a teacher I have tutored students undertaking GCSE (Foundation & Higher), iGCSE and A level maths. I have an excellent track record of substantially improving students’ exam performance and a near 100% pass rate. As one former student said to me, ‘You rescued my GCSE!’. I have a broad range of experience working with students who have special educational needs, as well as those in Alternative Provision (AP).
I have worked in several schools and a further education college. I now work for several tutoring companies, I can offer much more competitive private rates, as there is no ‘third party’. I pride myself in delivering tuition of the highest quality.
I hold Enhanced DBS, have in-date Safeguarding training and I am fully insured.
Please get in contact if you have any queries or questions. We can discuss pricing when you let me know what you would like me to provide. My rates are highly competitive and I will only teach up to a maximum of three students at a time. I am happy to take pre-payment, or on a per session basis, I cover Bury St Edmunds only, but can provide online tuition if required.

My Vision
My vision is to deliver the highest quality, evidenced-based mathematics tuition possible.
My Mission
My mission is to enable students to reach their full academic potential. I achieve this by consolidating students’ subject knowledge; improving their self-confidence and optimising their exam technique.
Raise your child’s potential.
The sooner your child starts tuition the more their confidence will grow
and the better they will perform.
